Since its inception in June 1999, Naver has taken a leading role in developing Korea's search services industry. As the first domestic search portal using a search engine developed with in-house technologies, the premier portal has introduced a variety of innovative search services such as Comprehensive Search, Knowledge Search and Real Time Top Queries.
Knowledge iN, in particular, since its launching in October 2002, has succeeded through the continuous participation of netizens in bringing offline information online, and played a leading role in improving search environment in Korea. Naver also provides high quality contents through

various services, such as the Book Inside service and the Broadcast TV Video Search service. Naver also introduced the Comprehensive News Search service, which compiles news from 100 media, Knowledge Shopping, Blog & Cafe services and other entertainment services.
Naver's commitment to securing rich content does not end here. Naver is doing its utmost to create an equal information-based society by making information easily accessible. It cooperates with the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korea Institute of Patent Information as opening a patent database and partners with a number of public organizations, including the National Library of Korea, National Assembly Library, National Statistical Office, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and the Ministry of Culture & Tourism, and think tanks such as the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences, Federation of Korean Industries, and National Information Society Agency.
